Knights is
a 2D game demo developed during my first term at
the Guildhall. It is a hot-seat multiplayer
combat game in the vein of the Worms
series. Some of its most noteworthy
features are its random level generation and
destructible terrain.
Although
technically considered a team game by the
Guildhall curriculum, I was the sole developer
on Knights, serving as engine and
gameplay programmer, artist, and composer.
Knights represents the culmination of the 2D
portion of my rendering engine. It
utilizes nearly every feature that I developed
as part of my coursework during this time, with
the exception of software sprite scaling, which
I deemed simply too slow to be worth including.
Knights
was presented at the Guildhall Winter Exhibition
on December 9, 2005.
